GoNet Systems Beamforming Wi-Fi Deployed by Brazilian Telecom Service Operator Oi
GoNet Systems Provided Outdoor Wi-Fi Coverage in the Famous Rio de Janeiro beaches: Copacabana, Leblon and Ipanema
GoNet Systems, a leading provider of beamforming Wi-Fi solutions for cellular operators and service providers, announced today that it’s outdoor Wi-Fi solution has been deployed by Oi, the pioneer company in the provision of bundled services in Brazil, to provide Wi-Fi in the country. GoNet Systems xRF beamforming access points deliver broadband wireless services along the Copacabana, Leblon and Ipanema beaches in Rio de Janeiro as well as the city of Salvador, Bahia.
“When we decided to deploy outdoor Wi-Fi network, we knew that performance in the dense and noisy environment would be an issue. However, we built a Wi-Fi network with superior performance in terms of coverage, capacity and immunity to noise”, said Pedro Ripper, Innovation and New Business director for Oi.
GoNet Systems MBW access points are designed for outdoor deployments in harsh urban conditions. With special channel filters and 90% effective noise mitigation, the MBW access points can be deployed in city centers and co-located with cellular BTSs, WiMAX and other Wi-Fi devices without suffering performance degradation due to noise. Leveraging GoNet Systems xRF beamforming technology, the access points deliver x2-x4 coverage and capacity.
“GoNet Systems is proud to work with Oi and deploy outdoor Wi-Fi for broadband wireless access and 3G offload in Brazil. Our xRF beamforming solution is specifically designed for tough outdoor environments.” Said Merom Harpaz, GoNet Systems VP Sales “with cellular data increasing at such a fast pace around the world, 3G offload to Wi-Fi is rapidly gaining acceptance as a cost-effective, broadband solution”.
